Small business loans in Dallas–Fort Worth
Official resources checked November 2, 2026. Profit Theory, LLC serves businesses nationwide remotely; this guide does not represent a local office.
Distribution growth and a multi-city financing plan
The Texas Comptroller’s 2024 Metroplex snapshot describes a broad regional economy, including air transport and warehousing activity. Its 19-county region is not identical to a city boundary or the SBA district. For a distributor, regional scale does not replace evidence of customer contracts and inventory turnover.
- Identify the exact operating city and county before checking local support or program boundaries.
- Separate permanent warehouse equipment from inventory that turns over several times a year.
- Show large-buyer concentration, receivable timing and the incremental costs of adding a location or delivery route.
SBA, state and local resources
These are public educational resources, not Profit Theory partners or recommendations of a particular lender. Ask the administering agency about current availability and eligibility; a published program does not mean funds are available or that your business qualifies.
SBA Dallas/Fort Worth District
This SBA district serves 72 counties in northeastern Texas. Confirm your county and use its funding education and business assistance resources before approaching a lender.
Texas small-business credit initiative
State-supported capital access is routed through participating financial institutions. Confirm current participation, eligible uses and borrower requirements; state involvement does not remove lender underwriting.
Fort Worth small-business support
Fort Worth offers consultations, training, capital-resource guidance and procurement support. Ask about the applicable service area and whether financial-readiness assistance fits your business.
Texas Comptroller Metroplex snapshot — 2024
The snapshot supplies dated employment and industry context for a 19-county region. Use its stated geography; it should not be presented as a current forecast for Dallas or Fort Worth individually.
Compare loan structures before applying
SBA 7(a) loans
Explore eligible working capital, equipment and acquisition uses. The lender evaluates repayment ability and decides whether to approve.
SBA 504 loans
Learn about eligible owner-occupied property and long-life equipment. Do not treat this as a general working-capital program.
SBA Express loans
Understand smaller SBA-backed financing and lender requirements. A streamlined process is not a guaranteed funding date.
Review SBA rates and fees and business loan requirements. Ask for written terms, fees, guarantees, collateral requirements and prepayment conditions.
Worked example: a Dallas–Fort Worth distributor’s warehouse upgrade
A hypothetical local-style project, not local market pricing or an actual offer. The interest rate and fees below are made-up assumptions.
- Business funding needed: $220,000; assumed fixed rate: 8.75%; term: 7 years / 84 months.
- Upfront lender fees: $4,400, financed into the loan.
- Estimated monthly payment: $3,581.98; estimated APR including fees: 9.38%.
- Estimated interest plus fees over the full term: $80,887.
- Separate payment-cost example: $65,000 monthly card volume and $1,755 monthly processing fees gives an effective rate of 2.70%.
- Separate inventory turnover and credit terms from card payments. Compare the full-term cost with cash available after stocking the expanded warehouse.
Effective processing rate = total processing fees ÷ card volume × 100%
Loan estimates assume equal monthly payments, a fixed rate and full-term repayment, with no balloon or additional charges. Payment costs do not imply any savings.
